Floor Care & Maintenance

Proper maintenance protects your flooring investment, preserves manufacturer warranties, and keeps institutional spaces clean, safe and slip-resistant. Below are best-practice guidelines and official care documents from the manufacturers we install.

Best practices

A simple, effective maintenance routine

Daily

Dust mop or vacuum to remove grit and debris before it abrades the surface. Wipe up spills promptly.

Routine cleaning

Damp mop or auto-scrub with a neutral pH (7–9) cleaner. Rinse where required and let floors dry before traffic.

Preventive care

Use walk-off matting at entrances, felt pads under furniture, and protection during other trades’ work.

Periodic deep clean

Schedule periodic machine scrubbing (quarterly or per traffic) to restore appearance in high-use areas.

Avoid

Harsh, high-alkaline or solvent cleaners, pine-oil products, and waxing/polishing floors that are factory-finished.

Warranty first

Always follow the manufacturer’s published instructions — using the wrong products can void the warranty.
